Mainstream is currently recruiting for a Commercial Associate to join its offshore Centre of Excellence in London.? The offshore team is one of the world?s leading independent developers of offshore wind assets, as evidenced by its pipeline of European projects exceeding 7.5GW. ?Over 80% of the pipeline, for delivery in 2015-2020, was acquired by winning awards in competitive tendering rounds in the UK.? The role will involve supporting the Commercial Manager in all finance/commercial work associated with attracting debt and equity investors into offshore wind projects.? This will include financial analysis and modelling, key contract negotiation/support, risk mitigation, process management, industry analysis and advisor management/support.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
- Support all investment work relating to offshore wind projects by developing and managing financial models and assessing the investor opportunity;
- Prepare and present financial analysis to key stakeholders, both internal and external;
- Liaise during all stages of the investment process with capital providers and external advisors;
- Support during key contract negotiations specific to offshore projects;
- Assist in sourcing, structuring and executing joint ventures and alliances, liaising with internal and external advisor teams as necessary;
- Preparation, review and analysis of presentations and other key materials;
- Support the management of due diligence processes;
- Provide key support for all new opportunity assessment and execution.
Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Relevant financial, accounting, economics or business degree;
- Minimum 3 years experience in corporate finance, investment banking, strategy consulting or equivalent industry role;
- Exceptional analytical skills including qualitative report writing and quantitative analysis;
- Proven track record of delivery;
- Strong communication/presentation/negotiation skills;
- Good interpersonal skills with self-starting style;
- Foreign language skills and sectoral knowledge (energy, renewable energy) beneficial.
